That's an interesting response. Could you elaborate a bit on "getting stressed out by yourself"? Is it that the comments don't bother you in the moment, but then later you ruminate, and it makes them worse? Is it the idea that your friends don't have your back in that moment, hence venting to different friends?

I hope I'm not being too probing! This seems to be a good answer to include in the next update, and if I do, I want to make sure I get it right.

I wasn't really thinking about my friends in that situation, I was more thinking of the fact that if someone said something vulgar/upsetting, I'd more than likely try to pretend it doesn't bother me. But in practice I can't really pretend for very long, and i usually leave the situation to avoid like blowing up or causing conflict. At the end of the day, i do think my friends, if they saw that it was bothering me, would defend me. Which is why I would probably pretend things are fine; I'm very conflict averse at times.

Thank you for clarifying! The final answer I put in is gonna be shorter, so it might not have this level of nuance, but I hope that it still captures the spirit.

I also sincerely hope that your well-thought answer is not an indicator that this is a common scenario for you, but if it is, I'm glad that you have friends who you can trust to have your back.
