You can get banned from Copilot by violating its Terms of Use, which include severe or repeated policy violations, harassment, and sharing harmful content. Actions like using multiple accounts, using a VPN to get around restrictions, or attempting to generate harmful or illegal content can lead to suspension or a ban.

Specific actions that can lead to a ban

Violating the Terms of Use: Severe or repeated violations of the Microsoft Copilot Terms of Use can lead to a ban. This includes sharing harmful content.

Creating harmful content: Attempts to create or share content that harasses, bullies, abuses, or threatens others are against the policy.

Sharing illegal or explicit content: This includes child exploitation, child abuse imagery, and other forms of severely explicit content.

Using a VPN to exploit the service: Using a VPN to bypass restrictions or in a way that violates Microsoft's services agreement, such as for earning and redeeming points in Microsoft Rewards, can result in a ban.

Creating or using multiple accounts: The Microsoft Services Agreement prohibits having multiple accounts.

Engaging in phishing: Using your account as a phishing drop box is a violation.

Repeated unsolicited contact: Sending repeated unsolicited contact requests can lead to a ban.

What to do if you believe your account was banned

Report the issue: Use the "Report or Feedback" features within Copilot to report any inappropriate responses and let Microsoft know about your concerns.

Appeal the suspension: You can appeal a suspension if you believe it was in error by using the "Report a Concern" page or contacting Microsoft directly.

Review policies: Familiarize yourself with the Microsoft Services Agreement to understand the rules and policies you must follow.

Be mindful of content: Be cautious about the prompts you use, as even seemingly innocent prompts can trigger moderation algorithms, and repeated warnings could lead to a ban.
