Okay, I cried my eyes out but I still don’t fully get it. I’ve played it like ten times and my three brain cells think Than actually took his life before the story even begins.
So Ill Op goes back to the house where Than used to live, and everything we see with Than is just memories, dreams, wishes, or even hallucinations. And the final audio feels like confirmation that Than is really gone.
That’s what I understood… but please, someone explain it properly because I’m emotionally destroyed and still not 100% sure.
I also want to say something personal: I’ve played this visual novel way too many times and I ALWAYS end up crying, because my mom had a terminal illness, and you can probably imagine what happened. During all that time, I was also fighting with myself. I tried to take my life multiple times because I couldn’t stand seeing her like that, and I couldn’t handle all the pressure my family put on me. Those three years were incredibly hard and, even though everything ended about four months ago, it still affects me a lot. I even wrote something about it and posted it on my profile back then.
When the game mentioned the oxygen machines (or something like that, I’m not a native English speaker), it absolutely wrecked me, because I was the one who helped my mom put it on or turn it on and off whenever she asked. That scene felt painfully real.
And I think that’s why this visual novel hit me so hard: it captures how fragile memory can be, how we hold on to the moments we had with someone, and how the mind mixes past, desire, and reality. The way it’s told feels so intimate and honest.
In the sillage lies your image was such a beautiful and special experience. It made me feel so many things, and I connected with it deeply.
Honestly, I love it with all my heart.
