Anyone else get over ambitious?

There’s a day and a half left and I’m only about half finished.
I should be able to reel the scope far enough back that I can get ‘something’ finished in time, but it feels bad having to make major compromises.

Right now I’m scrapping the enemy walk animations and just making their sprite bob up/down instead of animating their bodies. Better than nothing, but it still makes me sad :(

I’m not sure procrastinating by writing about it on itch.io is helping either…

I feel you man, I entered one jam before and I also had to scrap a lot, just to get something submitted - But at the end of the day, it's supposed to be something rushed and mostly unfinished I guess, I'll make sure the next jam runs longer than this one :)

I had to cut some stuff off my game too, ideas are free to have XD then you add the time it take to make everything work and It won't be that easy! I guess it's the nature of this type of challenge... maybe with more time I could've made something like a design document or something that limits the scope? I don't know probably all games had to cut some stuff

This is my first game jam, have done similar short form contests with film and animation. Mine has definitely shrunk in scope significantly. Don't beat yourself up! We're all learning.
