I've had three separate playthroughs so far and i have to ask -  is the whole argument between player and Aeran always inevitable? No matter what we'll always lose him? And if so, will we have the opportunity to make amends in future episodes? I've been trying to love up on him the entire trip and we keep getting interrupted  ;-;

Hiya, So, basically, what you do is manage risk (there's one where the relationship will go down no matter what you choose, but the others all have neutral options) pick the agility option when he tries to leave the first time (Success means no net decrease) then let him go when he leaves again. Carry on with the gala where you can interact with Phaedra or Melchior, then when you come back he'll be all guilty and puppy eyed, first dialogue prompt, choose "...don't." (so the interaction doesn't shut down) then from there idr exactly how, but you can keep him as a friend, stay in love with him, have intercourse (also keeps the romantic relationship), or leave him entirely.
