And thanks for bringing that up too! That was absolutely intentional on our part so it's great to see that people noticed it! In fact, there's actually an alternate route where Akio does all the less "Hero-y" actions and you can *almost* win, but consistently end up 1 Atk or Def short. We considered giving Nym a hint that the solution was to act more Hero like, but decided we'd rather the player figure that out for themself.
