This game is absolutely amazing and so id like to make a little review (spoilers ahead)

at the beginning of this game it reminded me of Slay the Princess (despite this game proceeding it) a game id played a little while ago and really intrigued me. as a lesbian i must admit the characters in this game did make me very much empathise with Rosette but soon realising that my endeavors to do anything but die in the end really did make me kinda want to give up.

i think this is where id say how good of an allegory this is for an abusive relationship, at your lowest you feel you should love and love not quite knowing if they love you back (this being obvious at the fact that the cannibal girl says that you love her but you never got to know if she loves you) all for you to realise that this is the cycle of abuse. loving someone hoping they love you but not entirely being sure only for them to destroy a part of you with an action and then you get up, dust yourself off and do it again.

When i came back to the game, after initially finishing it once and not feeling satisfied, it made me remember what i had learnt in my last toxic relationship. that giving up and living in the hell your abuser creates for you isn't a way to live and the best thing to do is to leave even if  it gets so lonely without them . So that's what Rosette does, she leaves her abuser. she really got her happy ending.

Great VNs have always been something that's more than just fawning over people and trying to get in there pants. i think i consider this one of the best visual novels i've read, the writting, the message, and the idea to make it so you have to experience every route (twice) to get the true ending makes this a 10/10 no notes. oh and i like the fact that the dreams are a foreshadowing to the deaths you get in those routes, very cool.
