Yes It came with either a bullet proof NP435 4spd manual or the crappy Torqueflight 727 3spd Auto. I went through 3 rebuilt autos before I sold the 78 I had. All I used it for was a daily driver, hunting rig, part-time hauler.
My 84 W100 had the 727 and it never gave me any issues. I hauled our IH 275 all over the farm with it.
