Cool composition! I really like the facial expression of both characters, it really shows how different they are!
Your idea reminds me of "Darling in the Franxx". That series has a similar concept with teams of 2, 1 boy & 1 girl, powering and piloting mechs but only if they can keep their connection balanced!
