maybe a dumb question but did you unzip the file before trying to open it? there should also be an option to open the application anyway when it says it may put your PC at risk.
I recently downloaded another game of Itch, same downloading procedure as yours, and it had done the same thing. I apologise for the inconvenience, it seems your wonderful game isn't the problem :). My apologies!!
