I gotta confess, I thought I wouldn't enjoy this game as much as I did! Really chill experience with good music and surprisingly fun game loop. At first I thought it would get repetitive really fast but the variation in dialogue and request from the clients was a really nice touch that not only evolved the game mechanic itself by forcing you to remember their orders but also evolved the characters own personality. Also loved the small hints they give after a while like Hugh saying to give him something sweet instead of straight up saying he wants boba for example.
Now there are certain things I noticed that could be improved, but it's totally understandable you couldn't finish/fix them since the time frame was really short:
First thing I noticed right away was the decision to make ESC quit the game instantly (dunno if this was an actual decision from you or if it was unintentional) but this is probably bad for most players including me since we frequently instinctively press it to just pause. This actually happened in the first few seconds of the game and I had to restart, this may compromise the experience so I would recomend to remove the esc quitting the game. For me, I think it's always preferable to not be able to quit the game right away and having to press ALT+F4 than quittingaccidentally.
Next is the dialogue which I have a few things to say: the text is too slow and I sometimes had to stop my reading to wait for it which can sometimes ruin the flow. Also it seemed like there was a bug with the dialogue with Hugh (love his name ahah) that seemed to mix the person who was talking for a moment. Finally, I think you should add a player character art to the dialogue when he's talking to better represent him in the dialogue as well.
Another thing is the lack of input prompts (for example when you're looking at a client to talk with him) you should add a text or some other cue to tell the player that he can interact with the object or person. Same thing goes for when you complete a request, I would love to see some feedback when you complete it.
Overall the game was pretty chill, I liked playing it a lot! As I usually say with other entries, the critics I gave above are just for later eventual improvements you can make. This is a game jam after all and only 4 days is too little to make a complete product. Congratulations on your submission and finishing the game! I would appreciate if you could rate our game as well. Hope you enjoy it if you do!
