This was so beautifully written and I am sorry for what you went through, this genuinely reawakened memories from a disaster i lived through, it was the 2nd most costliest typhoon of my country's history. My family and I had evacuated illegally (because the waters were too dangerous to sail across) and when we reached a nearby city, people noticed we were disheveled and immediately came to us and cried asking about their families. Witnessing that grief is what made me finally crumble, not the days without food, water or electricity, their grief. Your piece helped me grieve <3
my only criticism is that i would love there to be music, that would really accentuate the ambience you have.
