First of all, congratulations on the submission and finishing the game! It's a huge challenge making a game in just 4/5 days espcially if you're solo deving, so great work!
I liked the visuals of this game, I love old school graphics that makes me feel nostalgic about old games. However I didn't quite get the story behind the game and how it connects with the theme. I would suggest to add an intro or cutscene explaining what's going on. The gameplay could use a little bit more mechanics to make it more interesting. Maybe adding an enemy that is hunting you (like slenderman) or even just something happening in the background visually to make the experience more thrilling. Also, pressing escape brings you back to the main menu forcing you to start over again.
I feel like that's not a good choice because usually the escape button is used to pause and sometimes people can instinctively press it which in this case would completly restart their progress.  The VHS effect is too extreme so I had to turn it off, it's nice that you kept those options but maybe tuning the VHS effect down a little bit would make the experience better as it can be really tiring to look at it right now.
I think the game could use a little bit more work in some aspects, the graphics are interesting and unique, I really liked them and the environment somehow made me feel nostalgic.  However, as I said before, it's really amazing you could finish a game by yourself in just 4 days. Good work on your submission! You got a good basis for something interesting here, looking forward to eventual updates!
I would also appreciate if you could rate our game. We hope you enjoy it!

I definitely can't take all the credit for this, it was totally a small team effort to get all the models, music/sound, and writing done (I'm just the programmer!)

I'm so happy you liked the visuals, they were definitely the thing we spent the most time on, and I feel like the end credit scenes are the part that connect with the theme, so I'm not sure if you got that far? thank you for all the feedback on mechanics though, that's very constructive!

the escape button problem is absolutely something that came up in testing, unfortunately just a few hours before deadline, so there wasn't time to implement a solution before upload, but we will roll out a patch after the jam is over!
