I like this little game, it was very funny hahaha

The art it’s cute. I like when Phi gets very happy at the end, it makes me laugh how it moves. I think my favorite is the angry expression and I also like the flame changes with the mood

I liked the story, the one time death didn’t say anything, just revive Phi was my favorite hahaha. Also I liked the Chonky Pigeon and the Borgerz death

The songs are nice, glad to see we can get to listen to the ending song now :)

I think my favorite thing about the game is the interpretation of the theme. I didn’t expect this and it feels refreshing playing games that fit the theme but are in some way “away” from the mental image one can have or aren’t the thing you expect to see because it feels nice and creative. More when the idea is a phoenix abusing the ability of being reborn to see death xD

The game despite being small, for me feels alive, those little pigeons around make the game not feel empty when you are looking around which I really like, also I like to search around in games like this if I can get outbounds or something but everything is fine, just found like an invisible thing that don’t let you walk through, are at the houses below the wood fences, which isn’t a problem because don’t impact the game or normally someone wouldn’t be there, just me always looking to break the games haha

I’m happy I could play this, nice game! :D

Holy novel batman!

I actually never intended to have animated speaker portraits, since we had really restricted time to finish this game but the system I wrote for it lended it self toooooo well to me adding them in, and flicking between the happy and default expression was just too hilarious of an opportunity to pass up. Im glad you got a kick out of it haha

as for the theme, I really don't like picking the first thing that comes to my head, the obvious choice here was a death loop game but despite this being a 'death loop' game its unique enough that it gets a pass haha

as for the game being small again this was mostly because of a time constraint, we realistically had only the weekend to pull this off and I really wanted to have like 20+ deaths and more npcs but overscopts a bi!@# haha. all the houses were intended to be entered as well, they actually exist in the game too but yeah time got the better of it.

The fences at the bottom, oh no, I wanted it to be convenient so you diddnt have to walk all the way around but alas, I forgor to test haha. also the y sorting on the tree is above the fence too, Ill fix that later hehe

Glad you enjoyed! and thanks for the write up. Expect a similar caliber for your entry later!

Haha, I always try to give my experience/comment and usually end up being larger than the usual comment… :)

I see, it’s interesting to know that about the portrait, good you went for that opportunity haha (and in general it’s interesting to hear the details about the games I play, I like when people reply with info like this :D )

The original scoop sounds very fun :o  but I understand the overscoop part, I also had plans for my game but in the end I had to rush things to finish something on time, or each jam it's the same xD

And I hope you have some fun with my game, it ended up being more of a visual novel at the start due explaining the story, and at the end there is the boss with the gameplay
