this is probably awesome, BUT I really wanna point out, that if you see a character from the side, then this is not a top down perspective! O_O

It's been called top-down style for decades. It's a bit annoying when you're trying to find assets for 90° top-down, but to be fair, that was never a very popular style (GTA? Phobia? Notrium?). It's handy when you want to have smooth rotation, but it's tricky to make it look good. In any case, it's just one way of having a top-down perspective.
