I tested the true perma with a slime and my save file got deleted instead of being able to load.
Did you save the game at all? This doesn't appear to be the case when testing.
Also, "true perma" only works with preds that can do permavore, like the budgies and the boss characters. Slimes/the mimic still have their normal behavior.
