                                 The hidden prophecy

Chapter one

The sun warmed the glade as the kits tumbled through the tall grass, their laughter weaving between the rustling leaves like a soft melody. Among them, Little Pebble—named after her brave mother—paused to watch the other clans play together without fear.

“Look!” chirped Ashkit, a fiery orange fluffball from RiverClan. “No claws, no growls—just fun!”

Willowpaw, Tansypelt’s curious apprentice, nodded. “It’s strange, isn’t it? Our parents say the clans used to fight all the time.”

Little Pebble’s green eyes sparkled with wonder. “I want to learn everything—how to hunt, how to track, but also how to help others. Maybe I can be like my mom.”

Ashkit bounced eagerly. “We should make a game—something that teaches us to work together!”

The kits scrambled to agree, their excitement infectious. Together, they began weaving a game of stealth and teamwork, sharing tips from their clans and encouraging each other’s strengths.

In the distance, Pebble and Tansypelt watched with quiet smiles. The future was uncertain, but here, in the bright laughter of the next generation, hope was alive and growing. As twilight settled over the camp, casting a soft purple glow across the clearing, the clans gathered once more. The air hummed with quiet anticipation. Duskmane stepped forward, his voice carrying across the crowd.

“Tomorrow, the kits will begin their apprenticeships,” he announced solemnly. “This is a time of great change—not only for them but for all of us. Each apprentice will learn the ways of their clan and prepare to protect and serve.”

The kits shifted nervously, tails twitching with excitement and nerves. Pebble glanced toward Little Pebble, who sat wide-eyed beside Ashkit and Willowpaw.

Duskmane’s gaze swept over the young ones. “There is one special apprenticeship to be given. One kit will train to become a medicine cat apprentice.”

A hush fell over the crowd.

Pebble’s heart skipped a beat as Duskmane continued, “This role requires kindness, courage, and a deep connection to the spirits of the ancestors.”
