Two of the button mushrooms are hiding in the bushes, one of them is looking at one of those bushes, there's a small hint in the mushroom book that they hang out in the bushes. I know about the trees, don't know why they do it, perhaps they like you. I'll try to fix it, but I noticed the player doesn't get stuck in the trees that are closer to the meadow, where chanterelle is hiding, so you don't need to go so far into the woods if you just want the main ending. The suggestion about closing the book on B is a good one, I just thought that esc would be intuitive to understand.
