I'm glad you enjoyed it and like the art! Thanks for the feedback!

Item break chance is ~1% per use, so the gun blowing up soon after is really unlucky, sorry you got stuck!

The game is intentionally a bit difficult (being able to get unlucky breaks or items in the first place), but has healing fairly plentiful to try to offset some bad luck. I've gone the whole run without an item breaking and I've had it break in three uses... Stick and perfume never break if you want to give those a go without worrying about the breaking.

Do you remember what you were doing for the crash? You're the second one who mentioned a crash but I didn't run into any in the past few days of test runs so it's either a build issue or a situation I didn't get into enough...

The cats are just there to be cute and make you trip, they don't actually affect anything else

Ah yeah, I should mention ofc. I think that what created the crash was unfocusing my browser window a few times in a row as I was on Discord. Then it just looked like a memory leak. I'm on Zen browser btw, which is a Firefox fork.

And yeah, I do think I'm just... pretty unlucky generally, so I'll give the game another go later. I do very much like the level of challenge though.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the custom tick loop I had. If you unfocus the game, multiple engine ticks will run at once when you focus back, so maybe that caused an issue with GC or memory allocation per frame in the browser...

Good luck in your run(s)!

So for the purpose of fairness I tried again and this time I got to the castle. This time around I was having a blast but then another fatal bug happened (playing the web version). I was in the castle's basement then swung my baseball bat and the game froze, seemed to happen for no discernible cause.

Either way, I'd rated it before but I feel a lot more qualified to rate this now. Awesome game in spite of those mishaps, not only does it feel like an adventure but also feels very true to the GB.

I'm sorry you ran into another crash, but I hope you had fun!
