In practice, what you should do is start the game and wait until the first choice screen appears. There you'll have the following options: "Factory reset my phone" (first option) and "Don't reset my phone" (second option). The tutorial says to select "2nd" (second option), that is, "Don't reset my phone". Then just repeat the steps. After the first choice (2nd), just skip to the next one and select the first option (1st), "It's slightly better", from top to bottom.
As for the words, I just left them there so you wouldn't get lost. In "2nd, 1st, 2nd, 'Leave'", on the fourth choice screen, instead of writing "2nd", I wrote the first word of the choice, so you know you're going the right way.
