Haven't read that awesome visual novel for around a year, maybe more, just to accumulate content. And honestly i'm kinda disappointed?
Don't get me wrong novel is still very good just it has very mature topics but recent approach seems like someone read too much superhero comics and now there are moments where own logic of novel breaks and novel takes less mature turn.
8/10 for newer updates
[SPOILERS!!!]
Previously there was stated that Pandory is a planetwide monopoly in all economic sectors. Yeah, became new economy and all that but still has same traits as monopoly. Like appreciation of stability and ensuring that's not much going on that can shake their foundation and cause problems for Owners(in case of novel). We don't have real examples of such monopolies but we have authoritarian governments which share some aspects of monopolies too. Also Pandora is really close to these governments due to amount of power it holds.
So what happens when someone clearly challenges their authority not just by stealing Synthetic related items, making their own Synthetic and attacking Pandora's Synthetic but also by clearing all evidence? From Daphne both Isaac and Mary discover everything happened is a job of syndicate of sorts, i'll just call organized crime.
Mary declares that she is powerless about it and Pandora won't do much to retaliate against syndicate. Jasper just blames everything on Mary, Isaac with others and completely ignores real problem.
Retaliation against organized crime is not about helping Isaac, Daphne or anyone else - it's about own reputation , money and overall stability. Monopolies like Pandora likely don't mind regular crime but organized crime that directly challenges their authority despite knowing who they are? That won't be ignored, not a chance, nuh-uh.
Another part are characters. Jasper, Isaac and Yumi were did dirty in last current part of novel.
Previously Jasper was shown as an asshole but rational asshole. Alas seems now all expectations of his personal growth is no more and he going to be a one of story full blown villains for a quite stupid reason.
During train conversation Yumi had some really good points but then was portrayed by novel like a complete idiot and in general a bad person, invalidating at least a lot of what she said.
During same conversation Isaac plans about stream with Nem seemingly remained unchanged and he angrily, with determination, said about these plans despite everything WHAT happened yesterday. He clearly know what is going on so his argument is like "Let me help Nem by severely endangering him!". Even without whole organized crime thing there is still a problem that Nem isn't particularly good at streaming and really could use a work on improving his speech skills and how he manages his channel. Without even considering future work for Nem on improving himself all Isaac going to do is bringing a bunch randoms who interested specifically in Isaac and couldn't care less about Nem. So if Isaac is gone from streams for whatever reason , then positive and some negative attention to Nem will be gone too. All Nem gets from such help is a lot of haters and messed up channel.
