You can walk around the shrubbery, get the first key and use it on the final gate.
Until I figured that out I was stumped by the first puzzle.

Interesting, the bridge from the first key to the shrub on the left (which I assume is the one you mean?) isn't supposed to be there, and isn't there when I load it.
The intended solution involves blocking the exit back to the start area, and using the key to move clockwise to the next puzzle:
