first time leaving a review. it's gonna be a long one, sorry abt my bad english in advance it's not my native language :]
overall i find this game REALLY cool and atmospheric but there's some stuff i wanna talk about, i hope it won't take the entire screen page
PROS:
– visuals: where do i even start? this is nuts dude. textures, objects, style – you just feel that you're in an old abandoned place. the character models and their camera renders? this is simply amazing just how creepy and detailed they are. all their parts, rustiness and torn up suits make them feel real and frightening. Evocation's design is probably my favorite design out of any fnaf game that I've seen
– gameplay loop: it's not groundbreaking but it does its own thing. the mechanics work together just fine and i really appreciate different methods to protect yourself with one tool (eg the mask) against Tinky Winky and Dipsy that work similarly but require a different method to counter them. overall it's fun and engaging! it comes perfectly together with outstanding visuals
– horror factor: lots of fangames miss that. they try to make game lorey and advanced but often forget abt the horror factor. honestly? i haven't felt this kind of disgust in a long time. Tinky Winky alone made my skin crawl, his soulless stare with weird zombie-like animations terrified me to my core when i played for the first time. Dipsy, Po and Laa-Laa blasting through the door into our room is just a nightmare fuel. i haven't seen that much aggression since "the joy of creation story mode". and the designs of robots are simply outstanding, i'll never be tired of praising this game's style
CONS (not exactly cons but more like my personal nitpicks):
– phonecalls: i just wish there were subtitles. i understand english well and can make everything out, but sometimes it's hard to catch some words
– dream night: don't get me wrong. aestheticically and visually this is COOL. like REALLY cool. it's one of the most unique secret nights that i've seen. but gameplay wise? i have nothing against it being easier but it's..too easy for it's own good. it feels a bit repetitive and boring near the middle of the night just bc how predictable it is compared to normal nights with you swapping mechanics around like a madman. again, visually it's AMAZING i really like everything abt that part
– secret ending: i appreciate it for giving us like the entire explanation why we came here and who Evocation is (no spoilers!) but.. it honestly looks a bit goofy, at least for my taste
– midnight stuff: it's not a complaint towards the game! just wish there was some kind of midnight section. like in "abandoned enigma" with its documents on your desktop. that was really cool
BUGS:
i found only one. for some reason when i hover over the "continue" button it shows that i am on night 1. but when i press it, it takes me to the night im currently in. whether it be night 4 or night 5. it doesn't change anything just visually looks odd.
that's it! sorry abt me yapping so much i just found this game extremely interesting and unique for what it's trying to do. cheers
