I really like the idea here, but the long reload times and slow speed of the weapon make fighting the blue projectile guys really painful. Couldn’t get past them. I’ve only ever seen dash cooldown, dash speed, and health up options in the shop after a few attempts. If I could upgrade my weapon I might stick around, I dunno if I was just missing something or if you have to get to a certain point before other things show up?
I find dashing towards the cursor and not in the movement direction really frustrating, maybe a toggle to change that in the future would be nice. Visually this game is really nice looking although obviously the biscuit images are silly. Font can be tough to read.
I definitely didn’t for a second consider not killing things because I was 1) desperate for upgrades to make my character feel better and 2) am plying an arena shooter, I wanna shoot enemies…
But I think the idea could work? where it’s actually compelling to make one choice or another?
Didn’t encounter any bugs (to my knowledge), and the game loop works even if the balance isn’t quite there. A solid entry, just I can imagine it being so much more. Nice work :)
