I like the math minigame and would not think any of your suggestions would improve anything. All your suggestions are just easier, more passive alternatives. Might be cool as an alternative for a difficulty setting, though.

But the math minigame is easy too, is possibly to solve in 10~15 seconds, and that’s ok, the point is not about difficulty. What I propose is a task more engaged with the lore of old retro computers, something that justify the needed for maintenance. For me the minigame feels generic.

well, for me i don't agree. "generic" means it happens all over the place and you can find it anywhere. I literally can't list a single game that makes you do 10 math like votv does. maybe edutainment games??? but def not anything in this genre. so generic? definitely not. you also say it doesn't fit in with retro computers... how old are you? this is how you used old terminals. you entered in data. this is PRECISELY what using old terminals was like (well, a gamified version at least). 

I think you just don't like doing math. 

p.s. my high score is mid 6 seconds. beat that.
