The MC was a successor and was trained as such, but after the all-out attack and puting a stop to the war, the MC is not longer needed on the front, he is now free but only knowing the military, so he is kind of a blank book. All that story of his Dad will be explained more on Janeth and Krystal story, since is related to why Krystal trully hate him.
And yes, the kingdom probably will have no protagonism, maybe more as background lore, since there will be another character that served on the military, but the main part is the village and its surroundings, since it is a border town, they are very isolated, (1 character will help with this)
