When exiting a mode (game over or just quitting), going back to the main menu forces the game at its lowest resolution, and it will remain as such until opening the settings menu, at which it automatically fixes the resolution back to normal.
Milky mode also doesn't seem to be working at all for me, despite having it checked upon starting. :(
