this was cool, story was great. i didn't manage to get very far though, pmy health drained to quickly. as some advice, i wouldn't put spikes so close to the start of the level, allow some breathing room and also a space before the first enemy can reach you. regarding the spikes, they were really difficult to jump over (sorry if you didn't implement a double jump i didn't manage to trigger it). it would also be a lot more playable if they range of attack was longer, since i was getting damaged by the enemy when trying to reach that range. gg

I didn't think there would be problems with the spikes, but I'll take that into account.
Double jump is a bug lol. It works when you are near an object with a wall tag (If you go to the wall at the beginning of the level and jump, you will fly into space).
As for the range, I'll try to do something, but there's a high chance of breaking all the enemies. Their code is so clumsy that I'm surprised they still work.
