I tried the download version, and with my controller (Switch Pro controller), I was able to look around with the joystick, but couldn't move. The only thing that moved me was jumping and then clicking the A button, which slid me to the right a bit. My keyboard didn't work at all in both the browser and download version.
The opening animation was lovely though.
