I really liked the art in this game. The music is enjoyable and fits the theme well. The actual gameplay loop needs some work. I tried to focus on my 3 main issues:

  1. It’s not clear how high you need to climb. Having checkpoints or some goals would be nice. I went up for awhile, got knocked down by a gust and gave up.
  2. Cloud hitboxes need some work. It’s not clear where they are, and sometimes you fall through unexpectedly.
  3. Some coyote time would go a long way. Crisp movement is everything in a platformer.

As an aside, please try to make your downloads standalone builds. An unexpected installer with no confirmation was not a nice or welcome surprise :)

This is really great work for a week, and I think you could build this into a proper game. Focus on movement and hitboxes.

Thank you very much for your feedback! I unfortunately ran outta time for fixing/perfecting the mechanics, hence their jankiness (pretty much everything you mentioned and a few sizing/timing errors/text issues I let go for the sake of time). If I end up developing this idea further, though, I would definitely improve the jumping/hitboxes and implement some sort of checkpoint system.
