Might I suggest, instead of having the progress consistently go up by 2% increments while writing your magnum opus, there be some mechanic to speed up that process, so you don't have to do it 50 times (over 3 weeks of game time, if you don't work or feed yourself) over the course of the game. Perhaps having the increment of progress increase with each scene you write, or having certain scenes and their gameplay and interplay act as "inspiration" for a certain stretch of the magnum opus allowing you to channel them in writing 5% of it (doubled to 10% with a first time bonus, of course).

I realize it's probably paced that slowly because, based on its absence from the walkthrough, any ending for the magnum opus plot is currently unfinished and not in the game, but when it does get implemented, that could be a good way to make it more accessible to those with less patience for grinding.

The magnum opus completion pacing is only something I can really do once I know the full scope of the game. That being said, I like your suggestion a lot.
