This piece definitely paints a picture and takes you on a journey. I'm hearing a kind of noble, dignified opening (it made me think of Vivaldi's Spring, the quieter parts maybe... I think I am getting my classics confused haha), a fine afternoon at the local fishing lake on the grounds of a large country manor. Things start off well for our protagonist, he's happy as Larry... before a rival sets up and the two begin a heated contest of cunning and will... I don't know, my imagination isn't superb today!

I got this kind of almost cartoonish exaggeration in the composition, and it really helped to tell a story with twists and turns and communicate the emotions of the character(s). I could imagine this scoring a Pixar short film 😄

Something that stood out to me several times was your use of a resolving cadence (I'm not sure which type, or whether it has an actual name... But hopefully you get what I am referring to?). It stood out as curious to me, it felt very resolved, only to immediately continue on. I'm just curious what your intentions were in this respect/what image you had in your head? 🙂

I think you’re referring to the imperfect G major cadence I used towards the end

The section had modulated to G major and resolved in that key but I brought it into the original key for the last bit

I originally had the imperfect cadence as the final chord but I went back because I had visualized the protagonist walking away from the situation and reminiscing fondly (in the same manner as the beginning before any conflict occurred)
