Feeling like you have nothing and a sense of isolation were some things I wanted to achieve with this part of the story. I'm really happy that it evoked such strong emotions in you <3
Regarding 'the escape': That's exactly why I added the option for the MC to run away to test Cirern rather than genuinely wanting to escape. I figured there were people who'd want to play an MC that would stay with him, but I didn't want them to have to skip that entire part of the chapter.
While I can't say what’s going to happen in the future, part I and II of the prologue aren’t isolated chapters; stuff that happens in them and some characters that appear are going to matter in some ways later on. More flashbacks are going to appear in future chapters as well!
