It's nice, but it seems to lack a feeling of "steady progression" in my opinion. I think if each dungeon floor climb, my rewards would be bonus stats / perma items and not also basic rewards like food or gold, then I would feel like my character is actually getting stronger. Other than that, if you're out of weapons to use, then you're basically dead meat at the higher floors. Also, if I could have some kind of "growth build" or "tech tree" I could choose to maybe grow the size of my deck, or have more diverse finds in the dungeon etc.
