Autosaving causes major game freeze

Everytime the game autosaves it freezes for a few seconds and in some cases never get going again.

I encounterned it over all saves and no matter if i use an old or new savefile. It also happens when i start a new game. So when i save normaly it works just fine, also i can override the autosave with a manual save just fine.

My system shoud be good enogh for handleing the game and it only happens while autosaves. Im using the 64xBit Win version of the game.

My computer is set on:

Win 11, 64x bit, Prozesser 8 core 3800Mhz, 32GB RAM, over 300GB of free space on my hard drive

I advise going to your options and changing the autosave frequency to a week. I think by default, it's set to 28 days, which can cause longer delays the more slaves/subordinates you get and the longer you play. I noticed a massive difference when I changed it to weekly instead of monthly. If this doesn't work, then you may want to turn it off altogether and just remember to manual save every now and again. I noticed it getting majorly delayed around the 20 subordinates area or if you have someone in a different area on permanent search for recruits, it could also cause issues due to how much it's straining the game capabilities and overloading it. Hope this helps somewhat.

Yes, Thank you that helped. I delted my save's and changed the setting once per week, Now it works fluently again. I even had uncompatible savefiles hanging around, so it was either the number of saves or the amount that was saved with each save. My instinct was to make autosaves as rare as possible so i set it up to like 30 weeks and unkowingly made the problem worth. Thank you GCK Devil

No problems at all. I had the thought to myself on the most recent playthrough I started after the most recent update, and was like "It seems to take forever to save when it autosaves but if I manual save after it, it's almost instant, hmmmm, I wonder" so I altered it from 28 days to 7 and instead of a 3 minutes freeze, it only took like 2-5 seconds. So I definitely know what you were going through. And since it was so fresh in my mind I figured I'd share it if anybody else had similar issues.
