Gorgeous art and layout.
The random events don't really work for me -- they feel like they might need another pass.
The overall idea, though, including the creepy alien hermit interested in memories of conflict, escaping off to wherever it came from, feels very Jeff VanderMeer to me. He was born too late for Appendix N, but is definitely in that spirit.
And I love the idea that this is meant to enhance an existing adventure with faction play. I haven't encountered that idea before, but it's a great one.
