Yea i guess so, cause I'm used to using space key for jump in almost any game(sometimes W). My fingers are long so I think I found it weird to switch from an adjacent key with the same finger. Cause think about this. If i keep 3 fingers of my left hand for the AWSD, then I have no space available to use the Z,X keys. But the space key is a little far so I will be able to use it with my thumb. And then u can replace shoot key to Ctrl, so only 1 hand for everything. Makes it available for disabled people too!
