My streaming group ran this last night and had a great time, but we had some questions: FATE is stated as being a spendable 'unit,' but it's never explained for what or how to spend it?

Hello & thank you for the question. I'm glad to hear your group played Outworlder last night, that's fantastic.
Sorry for the confusion on the Fate spending. I had originally envisioned spending 1 Fate Point = +1 to any Opposition Roll (so, Checks or Combat). It's been a while since I played the game, but clearly there was a few details that I left out.
I would say you can spend as much Fate as you want in this manner (even on Fate related opposition rolls), as the movie is all about defying fate (like Rell sacrificing himself at the end). Plus, at the end of adventures you can get rewarded with more Fate points so might as well spend it here & there.
I hope this helps & sorry for the confusion on that matter. Thank you for playing!
That sounds like a very good way to do it. We'd toyed with: allowing a re-roll, allowing an additional 1d10 added to the roll, or a +1 per point spent. There wasn't guidance as to if those point came back or if they were just spent (or how Power returns if at all) so we decided that a good night's rest was either reset back to your base score OR a 1d10 roll to see how much came back after sleep up to your maximum. There's lots of room in the game to tailor as needed. We had a lot of fun with it.
