same here - v0.29.2.3 - Windows - I'm also not sure if its the same issue that I saw in the other comments but when the game freezes, you cannot even close it. I tried forced closing it and my entire PC froze and I was forced to manually restart my PC.
It could be due to Ren'Py Engine memory leak that happens with webm files. If your crash happened during any animated scene that's probably the culprit.
Please turn off animations in settings while we work on the fix (transfering our game to a new Ren'Py version that doesn't have that bug)
