Lore of this game in a nutshell:
Some guy gets elected despite people hating them, which indicates that voting was at least pretty close. Every other post is relatively fine, including a gay couple (presumably) and a suicidal kid (who probably died), among the other members you'd typically find on the average social platform.
Three months pass, and you can clearly see that politics became more prevalent. This is (presumably) linked to the guy who got elected, who has somehow managed to screw the whole country in a timespan of 3 weeks. Police attack people for speaking out against the president dictator, people are evacuating and protesting, and despite rules on NSFW being changed, not a singular post is completely unrelated to the election 3 months ago. (Mark's death was possibly created by police brutality, but no clear evidence. He died young, and most illnesses need more than 3 months' time.)
Two more weeks pass, and the country is suddenly locked into war (again, stemming from the new Supreme Leader). This can be referenced by the changes in posting rules during the player's new shift. You can see that Mark has been remembered, as well as war actually happening (not quite different from wars currently ongoing in the world). The only positive thing that happened in those 14 days was a wedding, and even that had the #resist tag on it. It clearly appears that the election took a turn for the worse, as in 3 and a half months, the country has already devolved into a state of war.
The next time the player returns to the platform, all hope is gone, as the platform itself has been removed from the country.
