MY WOMAN! YOU GET IT!

He wasn't kidding about that right amount of toxicity to leave em' wanting more cause hell I fell for that, embarassing as it is to admit...

Now by the end of my original run I got a neutral end to shift 2 but I went back just to see what else could have happened had I steered a tad more into Lane's path, and (SPOILER) his sister just outs him for having to used to cry in his car, there was something something about his name??.. I gotta lot of questions after that, pretty curious about our (I'm assuming) fallout with Amelia, too.

Moving on, Lane tries too hard not to care which is contradictory, and he does admit that he thinks about doing something else sometimes which made me wonder "what WOULD he be doing if he actually tried at something?" What does he want to do? What can he do?? (not in a "he's useless" kinda way but "what is he good at" sorta thing)

TO ADD- YES. BOTTOM LANE! It was a rollercoAster with him- with his sexist jokes and assholery! BUT HOT DOG!! Whenever he'd joked about bottoming and being the woman in the relationship, it got me "heheheheheheheheh"-ing like an idiot. The way I frowned so hard that it could distort my face when he called me a "good girl" but then it immediately choked me up when I got to call him a "good girl" and Lane totally buying into that.. LIKE! Put me in a room with this man and he's either coming out battered or pregnant. Lane may be a dick but he's even more of a loser and that's just my weak spot.

oh my daysss same. i got the neutral route first then i found there was a lane route and immediately ran for the hills to start over! and needless to say, i fell even harder for him. very proud of myself for doing his route because you learn so much more about him and some of the things hes been through which very much shaped him into the lane we see now.

im very intrigued to learn more about some of the things he faced growing up because he only touches on a few things briefly while alluding to other things such as possible physical abuse(?) and toxic parents.

and yes! speaking about that particular line. it really struck me because it comes off as an indication for depressive behaviours/symptoms. as in, what if this job and what he does (or lack thereof most of the time) is all he believes he can do? its very easy for people who are depressed to get into a stalemate. how he is psychological interests me a lot esp as someone who is studying psych. and it makes me wonder about his interests. as in, what does he enjoy? what did he ever dream about doing? because im sure it wasnt working at a grocery store like this.

YOU GET ITTTT and YOU GET ME!!! the way he perked up so quick over being called a "good boy" had me swinging my legs back n forth in my chair. and yes!!!!! i love my pathetic loser men. my favourite type honestly.

I am just as curious as to what other things got Lane to turn into a misogynistic prick, also- I find the sibling dynamic with Amelia pretty ironic seeing as she comes off as a man-hating feminist then her brother acts like the kind of men she'd want to see with their dicks cut off. I really want to find out more on Lane and interact with his sister, because as Shift 2 paints it, Lane is really just this dude that's a walking whisper for help and I'm not an "I can fix him" girlie, because I believe that you can only really get better by yourself but help is a huge motivator in that.

You mention studying psychology? How delightful! I, on the other hand, study Arts in English! I have to say that how Lane was written so humanly was another reason that got me more invested in him rather than Biker Boy (I'm freaked out by yanderes TvT). It just appeals to me that Lane has an entirely plausible character in real life, like there could be someone that thinks and acts like he does, ah except I can't say that I would actually spend a minute of my day if I happened upon someone like that. WHICH REMINDS ME- Lane doesn't like being ignored, huh? And you called on the possibility of toxic parents, it makes me wonder too- if that dislike of his is something from the siblings having faced parental neglect or if Lane was ghosted by a girl or something.

honestly... im superrr into yanderes. i tend to indulge in vns with such aspects actually! there's a lot of aspects i enjoy about it, but i really love how protective they can get! not a fan of yanderes that'd kill my bff or such a thing JUST because we're close. but im very much into the type of yanderes that'd kill to keep me safe cus the world is cruel. BB caught my eye first and got me into installing the game. im a sucker for quiet, shy guys that'd seem like they would— in lane's words— "cum their pants while talking to a girl". BB also does SPOILER KINDA?? kill the guy that got violent with me when telling him "no, you cant have my number" so hes right up my alley.

buuuut then.. lane came onto the screen and started talking. at first i ew-ed because lane is the type of guy i hate (or so i thought), then i got to smiling and rolling my eyes at him and also myself whenever he'd say something cute or sweet. and i do genuinely find him funny, so i'd catch myself laughing at his jokes no matter how outrageous or childish. except the sexist ones.. def not laughing at those.

lane's complexities just draw me innn admittedly. and unfortunately for biker boy, i do find myself enjoying more of my time spent with lane (sorry BB.. forgive me) lane was indeed ghosted by a girl!! im not sure if you were asking if that happened to him or if it could be a link to why he doesnt like being ignored. but he was ghosted by a girl he loved. to me, it explains why he doesnt really like being super vulnerable or why he has that specific outlook on love in general. his parents def played a role somehow into the lane we see today. a tumblr ask on spar0w's acc alludes to such and we will learn more in the shift 3 update which im super excited for. queue a will to live till 2026!!

Ah, indeed! I agree that there is great appeal in their protectiveness! I guess I only like the yanderes that kill for the love interest and not just out of jealousy, but the yanderes that stalk and manipulate are just a no for me ToT... I've played visual novels with that and while I get that that kinda is sort of the qualities and point with it, it always stuns me.. like stalking and killing I can still look pass, but lying to me??? COME ON! Be honest about your freak mah boy... Oh I'd also like to mention that there's the Dobler-Dahmer Theory (from sitcom show HIMYM heh) which indicates that an act is only endearing when there's mutual attraction. So YEAH- if I was into the guy, it's cute, but if I wasn't into him, he's a creep.

I appreciate Biker Boy for avenging me, the number guy deserved it. My typical taste in men plays into the tragically funny losers or failing manwhores, both love interests actually kinda fall under that LOL. now I had my eyes on Lane when I first saw the game but then read how much of an ass he was and then Biker Boy was all cute and caring and I thought "oh this is the lesser evil" and figured I'd steer into Biker Boy's route BUT THEN SHIFT 2 CAME AND HELL YEAHH THERE'S MORE TO LANE THAN HIS SOMETIMES FUNNY SOMETIMES OFFENSIVE JOKES! Now I'm pretty much all locked in for the rest of the game!

To conclude- YEAH A NEW REASON TO MAKE IT ANOTHER YEAR LET'SSS GOOO! Looking forward to the future of this game! Also, I apologize for turning the comment section into some yap session. :,>> but thank you so much for taking the time.
