yeah. it seems like i just hold down the spacebar, missing all these exclamation marks and then boom, the bird comes out of nowhere without warning and im dead

oh i know it. the bird spawning coords are set relative to the moving background. and there are only two backgrounds that get refreshed/swapped after moving by 600 pixels. so the bird coords just follow the new refreshed background movements instead. oh well best thing to do right now is just not holding the space bar for to long and being more strategic in movements. i might fix this after the GMTK jam period.
