I am happy you are asking questions about religion, as that is how we as humans learn, but do you think you should be asking this on a comment for a game? (I am part of the lgbtqia+ community, not hating on you). My point is, we are here to play indie games, support creators, and have fun. Not ask serious and important questions like this for a game that I haven't played yet, but am sure has no relation to the game at all.
I don't know if you are looking for a discussion on this, but like, come on bro this can be answered with a google search. Btw, I agree with you 100% that the violence and the overt hatred of many so called "Christians" is abominable (have they even read the Bible? What about 2 John 4:20, James 3:9-10, Romans 13:8-10, and so much more? Like, hello? Stop the tribalism FFS ).
Anyway if I understand your argument, it stems from the dilemma of if God created everything and knew everything, then creating Satan (who would rebel and bring evil) implies either malevolence or contradiction which are both inconsistent with his characterization as perfect. But your reasoning assumes that foreknowledge equals culpability and that the existence of evil discounts from divine goodness which is not perfectly sound.
This is because bro, you ignored the doctrine of free will, which is super important to Christian theology. God didn’t create Satan as evil, he created Lucifer as a good, free agent with the capacity to choose. HIs fall wasn’t caused by God but by Lucifer's own rebellion, his own choice. To get to the point, are you arguing that God should get rid of free will to eliminate all possibility of evil, even if that erases the very freedom necessary for love and moral good? Wouldn’t eliminating the choice between doing good or evil reduce humans and angels to robots, incapable of real goodness or virtue? Like, this was the very reason why the trees Adam and Eve were told not to eat from was in the garden of Eden, it was to give Adam and Eve a choice between standing with God (not eating from the tree) vs standing against God (eating from the tree). God wanted them to have a relationship with him based on choice, he didn’t want captives or puppets, this is the exact reason Lucifer was allowed to exist, why you and I are allowed to exist.
Anyway, to tie up the rebuttal, why is a world without free will, aka a world where evil is impossible, a morally superior one? (If you are still insisting on your argument anyway).
ok first off my argument didn't even involve removing free will it was actually if god is truly all knowing he would have known that creating satan the way he did and allowing satan to exist in the environment would cause satan to choose to become evil because if I was to take a child and placed them in an environment where I know that they would do bad things in am I the villain or is he because in the same sense god knew everything so he knew the perfect situation to make sure satan wouldn't turn evil and would still have free will but yet he made satan in an environment where satan would have seen or heard something that later turned him evil so realistically if god chose to make satan differently then maybe it would have caused satan to never turn evil because when you think about it cause and effect is a big part of free will where something happens to cause something else in this case if god made satan he knew that making satan in the environment satan was made would cause satan to decide evil over good and god being all knowing would have known that this would have happened so it wasn't that satan had free will it was that satan was made in the wrong environment and god knew that so who is the villain god or satan. And second off you might be too late to try and tell me that there is hope for Christians because I gave up hope years ago and if the Christians who truly understand the bible aren't happy with what other so called Christians are like then why don't the true Christians say something or do something instead of praying empty prays that will never be answered but ether way thank you for your comment and I am glad I could get the chance to educate you on what my argument was so thanks for giving me the opportunity hopefully others who don't quit get what I am saying will slowly understand through this oh and by the way don't worry I intend on making sure those so called Christians are told what the rules of there religion is and are revealed for there evil actions and I will educate the people about the rules of the Christian religion so that they may use the rules against the not true Christians just so that only the true ones are left and none of the fakes or at least the weak fake ones but yeah thank you for your comment it will help me in the future
