Hey, I'm replying to you here because your post from the other day was archived and I was unable to make a reply there. I just wanted to call out your assertion that collective shout is a left-wing organization pushing this. As somebody who is a self-identified radical leftist I need to tell you that you're dead wrong. And this is important because the people you support in the groups you stand behind will absolutely have an effect on the kind of media that you're allowed to consume. Like you pointed out, the organization is a self-proclaimed feminist organization. The designation of feminist means literally nothing, and there is no leftist requirement to be a feminist and at times being a feminist is directly counterintuitive to leftism. for example, swerfs and terfs directly target marginalized groups of people, a concept that goes directly against left-wing values. In fact, collective shout is comprised of these kinds of people exactly. If you don't believe me, just read about the tenure of the founder. And it makes sense when you consider that collective shout teamed up with Evangelical groups in order to target MasterCard and Visa. I don't remember if it was collective shout themselves are one of the groups they worked with, but the next target is literally LGBTQ plus games. Are you going to be just as dedicated fighting against that?
In fact, when you look at the history of censorship in the western world almost every single meaningful campaign was the far-right targeting the far left. Let me give you some examples.
The Red scare
Nazi book burnings
Nazi's first victims were communists and socialists
Modern day book bannings
Bud light Dylan mulvaney boycott
The satanic panic was led by right-wing evangelicals
The early comic book banning was right wing
Rock music, again a right wing lead movement
Video games lead to mass shootings, right wing Evangelical movement.
The only one I can think of might be the general concept of cancel culture. Even then, cancel culture essentially amounted to nothing. And outside of literal rapists and sexual abusers, the only ones who were effectively silenced with cancel culture were people on the left. And in all honesty, your anecdote about finding hentai in a school library is total BS and I'm going to call it out. Even if we're true, it's not indicative of a general censorship movement that absolutely is happening in the United States. Denying it is utterly ridiculous when there are so many resources that you have access to indicating otherwise.
Besides this particular point of politics, I am generally on your side with this issue. Not only is it not MasterCard or visas place to be dictating what we purchase with our own money (within reason, I think it's understandable to disallow literal cp and sex trafficking and things of that nature) but the science also backs up the allowance for games like this to exist. Everybody has their own sexual proclivities and kinks. If an individual chooses to enjoy something that has hurt no one in the comfort of their own home, they have every right to do so. An ever-growing pool of data shows that allowances to pornographic games that allows people to explore their sexuality generally results in a decline of sexual violence. Not only that, but despite pornography becoming infinitely more accessible since the '90s, sexual violence has gone down considerably. (To be completely clear, this statement is a gross oversimplification of the actual science. I recommend the video "making the world a better place with games" by sex positive gaming) Organizations like collective shout actively work against this science. They actively go against allowing people to explore their sexuality in the comfort of their own home. They go out of their way they to label individuals as sexually deviant, even if they're only exploring what they're enjoying their own kinks in the comfort of their own home involving nobody else. None of these are left-wing values. Using the excuse of protecting women to strip away people's ability to explore themselves sexually is about his right wing as it gets.
