I wonder if a game gets taken down, can the creator put up a new page with the same name (but a "safe" game or collection of screen images) so people who are out of the loop, maybe come back and search the game name can still find the creator?

No way of knowing, no info from Itch. I'm operating under the assumption that if my games get banned, I am also banned, or at least put in the no-no box where I can't do much of anything. But even if not...notifications go out on a game by game basis. If you haven't downloaded the game, you don't get notifications. So my entire follower count would effectively be wiped once the games were nuked. Even if I made a placeholder as a way to get info out, I'd have to start from zero (and they probably wouldn't be happy with me doing so anyway, even if it wasn't otherwise against the rules.)
