Hello！ I'm a MacBook Air user who successfully launched the game by following the guide. Here's my detailed steps , hoping it can help you too:
1. Download the game and unzip it. Make sure the game file appears in Finder (at this stage, attempting to run the game will prompt an error message saying it can't be opened).
2. Open Terminal and enter the following commands:
- Type `ls` and press Enter (this will display directories like "Desktop," "Downloads," and blah blah.)
- Type `cd Downloads` and press Enter
- For Apple Silicon (M1, M2, etc.):
`chmod -R 777 TOUCHSTARVED-SILICON.4.app`
- For Intel:
`chmod -R 777 TOUCHSTARVED-INTEL.4.app`
3. A popup window might appear at this point—click "Open" (the exact wording might vary slightly).
4. Close Terminal, return to Finder, and try launching the game again.
5. If you see a "Touchstarved...not opened" error:
- Close the error message
- Open System Settings (I'm on macOS Sequoia 15.5)
- Navigate to Privacy & Security → Security
- Under "Allow apps downloaded from," you should see the game's name with an "Open Anyway" option. Click it.
- Now the game should launch normally!
