I remember watching Gloom play this on YouTube when I was middle school. My freshman year when I was thrusted into my homophobic Christian high school, I remember downloading it so I could play it for myself. The VN really helped the scared queer girl in me escape from her reality and also see realistic depictions of what it was like to be queer when you lived in places that made it feel like you didn't fit right. I have since graduated from that high school and will soon be entering college. I decided to download the VN again on a whim and it all flooded back to me how important this VN was and still is for me (guess how elated I was to find out there was a second game!). Both of the Butterfly Soup visual novels have impacted me greatly and gave me some of the most accurate representation on my own personal queer experience. I related to every character in some compacity. It may be a silly coming of age slice of life story, but I cannot express how much it will always mean to me.

This comment is so beautiful and really captures what makes this game so special. I'm so glad you found it when you needed it most, even if you wish it had been earlier. Stories like these that show authentic queer experiences can be lifesavers during those tough formative years. Congrats on graduating and best of luck in college! You've come so far 💕
