if I had to rate this game I would Rate 8.5 / 10
NSMB – Mario vs Luigi Online is one of the best fan-made recreations of the original DS battle mode, and it brings the chaos online in a surprisingly smooth way. It's fast-paced, competitive, and full of smart strategies if you actually take the time to learn the maps, power-ups, and timing.
What it does really well:
-
Competitive Multiplayer Fun: The core gameplay loop of stealing stars, dodging attacks, and outsmarting your opponent is just as fun (and chaotic) as it was on the DS. Add online battles, and it's a blast.
-
Feels Like Real NSMB: The physics, visuals, and animations are extremely faithful to the DS version. It’s nostalgic but not clunky.
-
Skill + Strategy: There’s more depth than you’d expect. Whether it’s using shells as bait, timing a stomp to steal stars, or blocking power-up spawns, this game rewards smart plays.
-
Online Support: The fact that this is fan-made and has working online multiplayer is impressive. It runs pretty well for most matches.
Where it could improve:
-
Lag/Desync: Like most browser-based fan games, occasional lag or desync issues can mess with movement, power-up use, or star pickups.
Final Thoughts:
If you loved the Mario vs Luigi DS battle mode, this game is a dream come true. It’s fast, chaotic, competitive, and hilarious — especially with friends. A few tweaks could make it even more polished, but even now, it's a must-play fan project.
