I saw your stream. The walls get placed in a grid so that they don't overlap with other walls. To do this the game calculates the nearest cell and places the wall there. 


To avoid that the walls get placed at the wrong position just place the horizontal walls a bit below the place where you want them to get placed and the vertical walls a bit more left.
