I'm doing the Lars episode, and no, the image isn't saved in either Lars's gallery or the extras gallery.
I'd say there was something similar to this, but different, a few years ago, so I'm guessing that's where the image you can unlock with the guide was. So, I think to unlock the remaining image, you have to install an older version and then the latest one (I'd say you won't lose progress that way, but if you read this and do it later, let me know how it went, please).
